Xerox has five research centers worldwide and spends five percent of its annual revenue on security and other critical research, development and engineering projects. Xerox products are designed to support standards set forth in The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and FDA 21 CFR Part 11. Xerox machines come equipped with following security features:
• Disk Encryption – Uses state-of-the-art AES 128-bit encryption (or AES 256-bit depending on model) to secure data at rest.
• On Demand Image Overwrite – Executed prior to removal or as needed to remove all image data from disk or other non-volatile storage.
• Immediate Image Overwrite – Automatically executed immediately after jobs are completed to remove image data from disk or other non-volatile storage.
• Scheduled Image Overwrite – Automatic, daily overwrite of all image data from disk or other non-volatile storage including any pending jobs.
Xerox® ConnectKey™ MFPs include McAfee® technology integration, resulting in the industry’s first lineup of multifunction printers that protect themselves from potential outside threats. McAfee’s whitelisting technology ensures only safe, pre-approved files or functions are executed on your devices, minimizing the need to manually update software levels against new security threats. Also, seamless integration with the Xerox® MPS toolset and McAfee ePolicy (ePO) allows for easy tracking and monitoring. Plus, automatic Cisco® TrustSec Identity Services Engine (ISE) integration provides comprehensive visibility of all ConnectKey MFPs’ endpoints to enforce IT-centric security policies and compliance.
Many popular multifunction devices lack the ability to adequately compress a scanned image, resulting in greater strain on network bandwidth or files with degraded image quality.
Xerox MFPs, however, feature advanced scan-file compression technology that greatly reduces a scanned image’s file size — without affecting image quality.
Xerox WorkCentre products produce scan files that are up to 9 times smaller than those produced by the competition as tested by Industry Analysts, Inc. The file-size advantage delivered by Xerox means you can create and distribute high-resolution scanned images that contain both text and graphical elements without consuming excessive network bandwidth.
Our products employ the latest image-compression technologies, including the Mixed Raster Content (MRC) method, which splits scanned-file data into separate text and graphic elements. JPEG compression technology is used to compress graphical elements, while JBIG2 is used to compress text elements.
